The wine might offer the protection against lung cancer symptoms
You’ve probably heard that the antioxidants found in certain foods and red wine may offer some protection against breast cancer, heart disease and stroke. According to new research in October’s Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention appear, we could soon be adding lung cancer symptoms of this list.
“An antioxidant component can contribute in red wine help to prevent lung cancer,” said lead researcher Chun Chao scientist with the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Department of Research and Evaluation. “The results provide an impetus for further research to find out whether there is something in red wine, which help to prevent or treat lung cancer can either.”
Scientists believe that antioxidants, such as found in red wine and other foods are somehow capable of cells from oxidative damage by free radicals, which can come and every part of a cell, proteins, the membrane, the DNA itself strike protection . Cellular damage caused by free radicals has been in the development of cancer.
The researchers used the California Men’s Health Study to 210 lung cancer patients from the 45-69 year old men watch, the members of a large prepaid health plan in California were. The researchers looked at cancer rates and consumption of red and white wine, beer and other spirits. They found that on average there was a 2% lower risk for lung cancer with every glass of red wine, drank one topic per month combined. So. . . a man who would drink 30 glasses a month lower his risk of lung cancer by 60%.
Of course, each smoking the risk of lung cancer higher than a non-smoker’s risk. We all know that, right?
The team found the greatest effect seemed to be at risk male smokers who drank red wine glasses are 1:59 per day. Makes you wonder if any of the red wine. . . raises the challenge of the toxic chemicals in the smoke?

1st The study found no reduction in risk in men who drank the same quantities of white wine, beer or liquor. Only red wine was the effect.
2nd Red wine uses the entire grape, seeds, shells and all the vital antioxidants such as polyphenols in the wine is known to hold, in a form ready to be absorbed and used by the body.
Of course, many are quick to point out that a study does not prove that red wine has a protective effect. Sometimes early works such as these, do not stand up to further research. And the researchers themselves are quick to insist that does not mean this study that smoking is something you do to continue, or that red wine is supposed to protect smokers from developing a lung cancer.
“Of course we are not recommending that smokers go out and start consuming large amounts of red wine as a potential protection from getting lung cancer,” said Dr. Leonard Lichtenfeld, deputy chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society “There are other research reports that no alcohol show, including red wine, may increase the risk for other cancers such as breast cancer. ”
And of course you do not have to rely on red wine that increase your levels of anti-oxidants each day. Eating 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables will mean you give your body the right kind of fuel to help free radicals to minimize the risk of lung cancer symptoms to combat.
