Ahh Choo! the Common Cold Cured With Homeopathy
0I once heard a saying that went like this: âA clever doctor can cure a cold in a fortnight and it will get well in itself in fourteen days. â This is indicative of the way colds have been dealt with while on modern medicineâs watch. However, there is a certain method that can indeed address illness the way medicine was meant to. Homeopathy. It, in fact, has a sterling reputation for not only squarely curing colds, but indeed addressing most other human sufferings.
When choosing a homeopathic remedy to address a cold, look for the most outstanding features of the cold to match the most outstanding of the remedy. Use a 30th potency and administer it every 1-3 hours for up to 5 doses. When improvement ensues, stop the remedy. If need be, switch to another remedy once you have given the first one a good chance. It takes practice, but once you become adroit with homeopathy, youâll never return to the old ways.
Here are a few cold remedies and their corresponding symptoms:
1) The best remedy for the very first onset of a cold is Nat mur 6x. However, it must be ushered in with a number of sneezes and copious clear mucus and taken at the first onset. If these characteristics are present, then this remedy is nearly infallible. If not, itâs best to consider others.
2) If chill is the outstanding feature, then Aconitum is your remedy. It is particularly valuable when the chill is as a result of standing in the cold or getting a chill from getting out of a shower, etc.
3) When a chill is very pronounced, then Camphor is more likely to be the remedy to abort a cold.
4) If the cold comes from moving from a very warm climate to a cool one, such as when the city dweller goes for a drive on a hot day to the cool mountains, then Dulcamara is the best suited remedy.
5) If the cold has caused a weakness as the most prominent complaint, then Gelsemium is best indicated. Chills up the back, beating of the arteries up the neck and hands that are hot and dry are also symptoms associated with this remedy.
6) Mercurius is the remedy to choose when the mucus is prominent from the nose and is serous. The nose is swollen and red from which there is a foul smell . A heavy head ache prevails in the face area, there is thirst and nightly sweats. The person who needs this remedy wants to be left alone, is depressed during the cold or is often low in spirits. The extremities are achy and all the symptoms are made worse from both heat and cold.
7) A closely related remedy to Mercurius is Hepar sulph. It is often a good choice when Mercurius fails and is particularly valuable when the person is over sensitive to pain.
Nux vomica is the remedy of choice when the body feels blocked, such as when the nose feels stuffed and would feel better if it could just release. The forehead feels heavy. The person is often irritable and impatient and they resent touch, noise and odors.
Homeopathy has the ability to be applicable to any illness, great or small. It adroitly resolves the most uncomfortable colds. Next time youâre stricken, choose the most appropriate remedy and enjoy the next few weeks because youâll b back on your feet in no time.

How To Compare Low Cost Long Term Care Insurance In Arizona
0When comparing low cost long-term health insurance, Arizona residents must compare facilities on an apple-to-apple basis. To compare an Assisted living facility to a nursing home, will do nothing but frustrate you and may be the cause of making an uninformed decision. Below we’ll discuss the differences of a few of the long-term care facilities. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Do your research to find out all of the different types of long term care facilities to help you to make an informed decision:
1. Adult Day Care: This type of care provides health-monitoring services such as checking blood pressure, ensuring the patient is getting adequate amounts of food/liquid. They also ensure brain stimulation by engaging the patient in social activities and physical activities. If necessary they will help with personal hygiene performing tasks such as helping with bathing, shampooing, shaving and toileting.
2. Assisted Living: Assisted living facilities provide help for people that require assistance with their daily living activities, but do not require 24 hour 7 day a week help. In essence assisted living is the step in between living at home and moving into a nursing home full time. Depending on the facility, some of the services provided are cooking, bathing, laundry, dressing, housekeeping and medication.
3. Hospice: Hospice provides services to patients who are terminally ill. Hospice provides pain management, medical care, spiritual and emotional support. These services may be provided in the patient’s home or in a facility. Hospice’s philosophy is to make the patient’s final days pain free, lived with dignity and provide the best quality of life as possible.
4. Nursing Home: Nursing Homes are in house facilities that provide both recuperative and non-recuperative long-term care. Although generally considered a place for the elderly, nursing home patients may range in age from young to old. These facilities provide 24-hour care for patients who are unable to care for themselves whether it is a result of aging, illness or physical disability.
Causes of Ventricular Fibrillation – Symptoms and Treatments
0Ventricular fibrillation (V-fib) takes place when the ventricles beat at a severely abnormal rhythm. It is a life-threatening arrhythmia and can lead to sudden death. There is rapid contraction and relaxation of the heart muscle producing low cardiac output, leading to no circulation of blood, oxygen, and nutrients to the rest of the body.
The main cause of venticular fibrillation is heart disease, as well as chemical imbalances.
Electrolyte Imbalance:
Electrolytes are important chemicals needed for the heart to function normally. If too much or not enough electrolytes exist in the body, the heart reacts by not beating effectively, leading to arrhythmia or sudden cardiac death.
Chicken noodle soup is rich in electrolytes and great to eat when not feeling well, but caution must be used with processed soups as they tend to be high in salt content. This is not advisable for persons who must monitor their sodium intake. Fresh homemade heart healthy soups are best.
Electrolytes Include:
Bicarbonate Calcium Chloride Magnesium Phosphate Potassium Sodium Sulfate
All are necessary at the appropriate levels for normal heart functioning. Electrolytes can be lost through heavy perspiration or increased urination. Anything that causes the body to rapidly lose fluids can result in electrolyte imbalance, which can lead to cardiac arrhythmia.
Symptoms:
When the heart is not pumping blood effectively, as in ventricular fibrillation, the victim will collapse and become unresponsive, due to the heart ceasing to function. There is no pulse or blood pressure. Prior to the onset of a V-fib episode, the patient may voice complaints of chest heaviness, difficulty breathing, and profuse sweating.
How Is It Treated?
V-fib has dire consequences and is treated via emergency measures. Cardioversion using a defibrillator shocks the heart back into rhythm, as well as the administration of anti-arrhythmic medications given intravenously. All work together to get the heart back into normal sinus rhythm (NSR). In some cases, the doctor may employ a technique called carotid massage, which releases chemicals into the body that slow down the heart rate. Carotid massage is usually reserved for younger patients because of the risk of stroke in older patients. However, it has been used on older patients as necessary and depending on their present condition.
Prevention Is Key:
Ventricular fibrillation can lead to instant death. After successful resuscitation, the patient may require mechanical ventilation, or ventilator, until stable and able to breathe on their own. There is also the added risk of a second episode. This same risk also presents itself in victims who have suffered heart attacks. To offset this possibility, a surgical procedure can be performed to implant a defibrillator or a pacemaker in the patients left upper chest. The procedure usually takes about 1-2 hours to complete, and helps to keep the heart rate at a normal pace. Should an arrhythmia occur, the defibrillator will automatically deliver small electrical shocks to the heart to regain it’s normal sinus rhythm.
Everyone should take a CPR course. It is the opinion of this writer that it should be taught in schools all over the country. CPR is easy to learn and is precious knowledge, especially if there are young children in the home, or when persons with heart disease and the elderly are present. Contact your local Red Cross for class dates and times. Classes usually last just a few days. It is a small amount of time to spend to learn how to save a life.

The genetics and aging problems are considered to be the main causes of Alzheimer’s disease. There are approximately nine out of ten thousand people affected with this malady and it is more often in women than in men. The disease primarily occurs in older people over the age of 65.
