I have wanted a Neti Pot for years (prior to the Oprah craze) and just never got one. For Christmas this year my mom gave me one (given my sinus issues). I was only slightly hesitant because I was born without frontal sinuses…I did it tonight for the first time and i’ll admit it took awhile to get going. It also burned just a little but I was patient. By the time I was done – my sinuses felt so much better. Great product.

This is a good video, mostly. I’ve been using a neti pot regularly for over a year now and I would not recommend sniffing the solution back in, blow your nose after your done. The purpose to the neti pot is to clear the gunk out of your sinuses, if you snif it back in that kind of defeats the purpose.

If you’re really stuffy, the water might not flow through, but it won’t back up in your nose – it just won’t leave the pot due to blockage. For a cold, follow the net pot with a swipe of Zicam. If you do that every 4 hours or so, you’ll get rid of it fast. The virus can’t live in that saline environment!

I’m having my deviated septum repaired tomorrow and wanted to know how to preform the sinus rinse using a neti pot beforehand. Though the video is very ‘jerky’ I thought the information was very helpful compared to many others I’ve watched this evening. I’m looking forward to giving it a try as that is my only recourse for the next week (not allowed to “blow” my nose). Thanks for taking the time to inform us rookies on just how easy it can be to use the neti pot!

I don’t have sinus problems but my husband does. I keep trying to get him to try this. I first heard of it back in the 90′s and was curious. I also suggested this neti pot routine to a friend today that has so much allergy problems and he had never heard of it. For those with these problems this is a god send.
