Judith Garber – Orthodontics in American culture
Judith Garber discusses her research into how orthodontics affect our society’s behavior and how the orthodontics industry generates its own demand. Judith is advised by Dr. Leslie Fishbein, Associate Professor in the Department of American Studies at Rutgers University.
Interesting video. I think your research project would be more relevant (and interesting) if applied to health care cosumer spending in general. What medical treatment we want, what we need, and what is cost effective.
Braces alone is to narrow a focus, and it will be tough for you to research what is necessary and effective versus what is just cosmetic. Reaching a broader medical picture will make available more data on what cost effective treatments.
