I’m ok with a salad but I hate it on burgers or sandwiches. To me when you put it on a burger it’s just “extra stuff” that doesn’t add a thing to my enjoyment of a burger. I always ask for no lettuce when I order a burger. In fact, if I go to a More >

I have had Fibromyalgia for 7 years. I was wondering if anyone knows how this newer type illness began, or where it originated? How could an immune system disorder like this suddenly start affecting thousands of people out of the blue? It is like I woke up one morning in July, 2003 with a terrible More >

Those who are against any change should have no problem answering this question. Remember, 40 plus million people have no health care in this country while drug companies have record profits.

Okay, here’s the deal. My mother has three children. My step-dad has three children. They have been married over 20 years. My mom is put in a nursing home with dementia and other problems and passes away. Naturally, they call my step-dad first to tell him. However, my brother More >

Boy King’s in St. Louis today with another captive audience, speechifying about his government takeover of health care. When he said everything’s been said, was he talking only about his opponents? Does he think his umpteenth speech is going to matter? The American people have already overwhelmingly kicked the Boy King and More >

UPS is the only one I know that know that offers insurance for part-time employers. There are many jobs at UPS from the mail room to the trucks that deliever. I would look into it.

Typically, an employer will offer health insurance to employees when they need them to work an inconvenient shift. For example, Fifth Third Bank offers health insurance to its customer service representatives who work at least 20 hours per week but the catch is you have to start work after 5pm – when the first shift is going home.
Go to to Monster.com and search by your city and by part-time position. Skip jobs like retails or office position. The part-time jobs might be cushy but they won’t offer health insurance. Look for companies that have to provide service to their customer at least until 10pm or 11pm or even 24/7 such as rental car agencies, or credit card agencies. This might not be ideal but you and your husband are a team and you will be contributing until he finds a new position. Good luck to your both.

Very few employers will provide benefits to part-time employees. This is why a LOT of places only hire part-time employees (my local newspaper is notorious for this — they offer great jobs with good starting salary, but zero benefits to part-time workers, and most times, that’s what they’re hiring). You either pay for the insurance yourself or you find a way to work full-time.

Well, Walmart and UPS both offer benefits to part time employees, but they’re not going to pick up much of the tab.
