You will get a generic pill. There is nothing wrong with that.
It will help with your period and protects against pregnancy if you have sex and take it daily at the same time everyday! Use condoms if you choose to have sex.

most places will start ou out on some kind of pill, but they should discuss what options you have for birth control and the pro’s and con’s of each kind. And yes, the birth control you receive will help prevent a pregnancy should you have unprotected sex. BUT remember, birth control will NOT protect you from STD’s such as genital herpes and HIV so it’s important your partner uses a condom EVERY time you have sex! Good luck!
