Stores now sell a home screening test for parents who are on duty to care for a rehab hospital because they suspect their children with drugs. To use the test, you just pull a hair from the head of your child and make him do the test. Sounds easy, right? During the test itself may

if your insomnia persist for very much longer you need to see your doctor to get a prescription. Taking over the counter sleep aids for any extended amount of time can cause liver damage.

Benadryl will put you to seep because it has an antihistamine in it. Liquid Benadryl works faster than the pills because it gets into your blood stream faster. The best thing about using benadryl as a sleep aid is that you feel great when you wake up not groggy or tired like with PM medicines.

The ingredient in Benadryl is what is in most over-the-counter sleep aids.
There is a tea called Nighty Night that I have tried, it doesn’t knock you out or anything, but once you fall asleep it seems to enhance the dreams…or at least you can remember that you dreamed.
Taking a long hot bath prior to going to bed can be helpful, adding some type of lavender bath product is supposed to create a calming effect.
Hope you do get some sleep!!!

NyQuil will have you out in minutes. Or Tylenol pm. they have cheaper generic brands of both. that both work.
some advice, I tried sleeping pills and I am so groggy the next morning I feel hung over. it sucks.

try a shot of whiskey or something to relax you, or some bed time tea.

You CAN buy sleep aids otc. Or you can try taking benadryl if you are not allergic to it. That’s what Tylenol PM is made up of…….tylenol and benadryl mixed. Never take more than the recommended dose on the package, though. You might damage your liver otherwise.
Have you tried drinking non-caffienated tea? Milk and turkey are known to help people feel sleepy. I’m assuming you already tried the hot bubble baths, the heating pads, the scent of lavender on your pillow, massage, boring books, and the like?
You may have serious insomnia if none of these have helped. Contact your doctor if you persistantly can’t sleep.

I reccomend going to your local pharamacy and asking them to show you were you can find melatonin… it’s an herbal drug in capsule form … you can get it in any pharmacy. but be prepared to go to sleep. take it a half an hr before your ready for bed and you will definetly get at least 8 hrs.

My cousin who is an RN , takes tylenol pm to go to sleep.
But my dad who has insomnia and was prescribed valium, sometimes doesn’t take it so he doesn’t get addicted to it. He drinks a couple of shots of wine before going to bed and watches a program that doesn’t hold his attention very long, like religious programs. It is like reverse psychology for his brain because as he tries hard to concentrate on the program, he gets sleepy. Kind of like when you were in school studying for a big exam and you fall asleep instead.
Lately however, he swears by Xango . He says it has helped his sleep patterns and even his PSA level. We are not pursuing it as a business but if you would like to give it a try, we sure would welcome you signing up under us.

Melatonin. It stimulates the sleep cycle and a bunch of other stuff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melatonin

Instead of sleeping pills, why don’t you try some warm milk or herbal tea? Also, limit your caffeine intake (coffee, tea, sodas) at least 2-3 hours before bedtime. Put on some soothing music (I have a CD of rain, thunderstorms and waves that puts me right out). If you try all of these I bet it’ll work, and you won’t have to resort to taking something. Good luck.

I have insomnia (chronic [more severe]).
My doctor prescribed me Ambien (Hypnotic), and Ativan (Benzodiazepine) for treatment.
I suggest you see a doctor if it becomes THAT big of a problem.

Use Benadryl

The active ingredient in Benadryl will produce drowsiness in most people as a side effect. What’s good about this drug is that it isn’t habit forming, and it also helps allergy sufferers.
Buy generic, though. It contains the same active ingredient, and will save you money.
